Watch: Delta Air Lines flight crashes at Toronto Pearson Airport

On Monday, a Delta Air Lines subsidiary’s aircraft crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Delta confirmed the event, stating that Endeavour Flight 4819, which was traveling from Minneapolis/St. Paul to the Canadian airport, was a part of the collision.

The jet came to a stop upside down, according to disaster footage and photos.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the inquiry, the Federal Aviation Administration stated in a statement, which also confirmed that no one was killed in the incident.

During a media briefing Monday evening, Deborah Flint, the president and CEO of Pearson Airport, cautioned that the airport will likely see operational interruptions in the days ahead due to the closure of two runways for an on-scene investigation.

According to Delta, 18 individuals were hurt and taken to the hospital. But according to Flint, there were no known serious injuries among the passengers.

According to Peel Regional Paramedic Services Director Lawrence Saindon, two people were air ambulanceed to two separate trauma centers and one child was brought to a children’s hospital among the injured. Every other injury is mild to moderate.

At a time when tensions between Canadians and the US government have reached all-time highs, this incident follows the widely reported mid-air collision between an Army Black Hawk and an American Airlines regional plane over the Potomac River.
